Every federal and health-related agency under the sun is warning us to eat more fiber, buy more fruit and vegetables, and slow down just a bit with the added sugar. Eating more fiber is connected to lower rates of heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes. The American Heart Association recommends that we eat 25 to 30 grams of fiber daily. The American Diabetes Association suggests that we slowly work our way up to between 15 and 30 grams of fiber daily. Mama just said, “Eat your greens.” You could not have any dessert (added sugar) until you finished your plate.
Loice Mae’s Kitchen (LMK) is on a mission to help increase your daily intake of green leafy vegetables. Yes, we want to help you to be wise like mama, but we also want to slow down the increasing rates of sickness and disease in our society. LMK is a smoothie company based in Northern Virginia. Actually, we will help you to drink your greens rather than eat them. Our blends are plant based so your body will take in lots of nutrients and fiber. They are oh, so good. We want to help you keep your krew smooth so you can get to your best/ happy you. In other words, “Go Smoothie on Me!” Take care of yourself so that when you need to, you can take care of someone else who may be in need.
My vision is to bring the community together by delivering fresh, healthy smoothie blends right to your doorstep—just like the milkman used to do. By offering face-to-face, friendly interactions, I hope to make it easier for everyone to enjoy nutritious drinks, especially those who can’t make their own. With a variety of sizes to suit different needs, I aim to support our local community’s well-being, and dream of making these wholesome juices available in Fairfax County public schools.
